Avoid Mistakes Like These – What the Big Box stores do not want you to know

June 18, 2018 at 4:26 pm

Be cautious of the “Big Box” stores if you are wanting to get new carpet installed.  They often have promotions where they advertise “Free Carpet Installation.”  We all know nothing is free and they pay their subcontractors with their “free” install  because the carpet is double what we would sell an equal carpet for, and their pad is also approximately double.  If you hire Coventry not only will your install on equal carpet and padding be about 25% less you will have our Lifetime Installation Guarantee!

  1. Service is not their top priority. They advertise low prices and free installation but the reality is that the Big Boxes are more expensive than a company like Coventry Carpets when you compare what you are getting.
  2. Big Box store experience significant staff turn-over. Because of this, their designers are typically inexperienced. Inexperience in designing the best flooring for your home and needs will result in lackluster designs, mistakes, and delays for your Carpet and Luxury Vinyl Tile installation in Denver.
  3. Big Box store carry a smaller selection of carpeting and LVT. We provide a much larger variety of all types of quality carpeting and flooring.  In fact, we are one of only two Stainmaster Showcase dealers in all of Colorado.
  4. When you buy your carpeting and flooring from Coventry you are dealing with one point of contact for everything. We do the layout, ordering and the install. If anything should go wrong, we guarantee to make it right at no cost to you.
  5. Our mobile showroom allows our sales consultants to come directly to your home or business with samples and give you a free estimate, on your schedule and because of our low over head and “WAREHOUSE” pricing we are able to pass the savings on to you. We also have a beautiful showroom that is by appointment only.  Our Experienced people provide you with the additional factor needed for a unique design that works with your home and lifestyle.  We can answer any questions you have about all types of flooring as it is all that we do.
  6. Warranty on all their work and products. If the work is not guaranteed and you do not get a warranty on the products, what can you do if something goes wrong? Make sure you hire someone like Coventry Flooring who has been in business for years. We guarantee to make any issue you have right!
  7. At Coventry Flooring our installers are employees, not sub-contractors. We are one of very few companies in Denver that guarantee’s the installation for the life of the carpet because we install it.  Our installation crews are all insured and bonded. Most of our installation crews have over 30 years of carpet experience. They are reliable, honest, hardworking and pleasant to have in your home.  Some notable installations that we have done are the “Brown Palace Hotel”, “Regis University” and “Steam Boat Grand hotel”.
  8. When you are ready to have new carpet installed make sure you get the best quality carpet padding to go with it.  The padding will help your carpet last longer and work better.  Carpet padding density and thickness each help with carpet performance.

Coventry Carpets is a family-owned and operated referral-based company built on developing relationships with our customers by revolutionizing the way they experience flooring. Scot Johnson and Tom Burns created the company in response to over 40 years of combined service in the industry. They began with carpet and transformed it into not just a material but to a product that includes not only the carpet itself but also the installation of that carpet.

The Burns Team

June 8, 2018 at 3:34 pm

Erik Burns has grown up watching his dad, Tom Burns, install carpet since he was a child and thus, in his words, he has been in the industry as long as he can remember. After moving to Golden, CO in 1996 from Chicago, IL, Erik eventually went on to study Political Science at Colorado State University. On the weekdays he went to class and on the weekends, he went home and installed carpet to make ends meet. It was at this time that he developed his knowledge of the installation process, including measuring and seam placement. Shortly after he graduated, Scot Johnson and his dad, created the blueprint for what is now Coventry Carpets and Erik made the decision to be part of the team. Since 2007, Erik has become an expert in helping people make better flooring choices and ensuring the end result meets their needs. By combining his installation background and vast product knowledge, Erik can help guide you through your floor covering investment.

Maggie Burns, Erik’s wife since 2010, has always been heavily involved in the family business and, through the years, she has even been a big part of many installations. As Erik’s business grew, it began to become more and more clear that the only way to elevate his business to the next level would be if they formed a team. Although she loved her career in the banking industry, and developed many skills along the way, in early 2018 she and Erik decided it was time for The Burns Team to take flight and help facilitate the best customer experience possible for Erik’s clients. Maggie and Erik reside in Golden, CO along with their son Conor and their dog Rossi. They love the outdoors and taking in all that Colorado has to offer including skiing, cycling, hiking, and camping. Although they will go practically anywhere in the Denver Metro area for business they particularly enjoy working with home owners west of Denver specifically Arvada, Lakewood, Evergreen, and of course, Golden.

They look forward to meeting you!
